Yes. Immobilizer lamps that stay on or continue flashing indicate the vehicles immobilizer has not recognized a valid key. Depending on the system, the vehicle may start with a correct rotation but invalid key, or it may not crank. Your problem us most likely a defective key, however the immobilizer antenna could also be weak and not properly picking up the key. Both problems will require a dealer or technician or locksmith with special tools to learn new keys to your immobilizer.

I have a 2003 Hyundai sante fe that will not start and I believe it may be related to the security system. This has happened twice, but the first time I got the car to start after clicking lock/unlock

Hi try operating with the spare remote to lock & unlock the doors & try the spare key to start may be the immobilizer playing up if it starts with the spare key it could be the transponder in the key itself wanting re programing
hope this helps

Is this a problem with my Santa Fe's computer?

as for the check engine light sometimes the tightness of your gas cap can make that light come on and stay on, try tightening it or loosening it just a little bit. have no clue on the rest of the issues or the possibility of it all being linked but i know the cap cap has been the culprit for check engine light issues i've had when mechanic checked and said nothing wrong!

Immobilisor light stays on car wont start /central locking works ok

I would try taking the key to your local Hyundai dealer and have them test your key. If the key is fine then you will need to have the immobilizer replaced.

Car dies seconds after starting it, everytime.

Hi,I would thnk you have an immobilizer fault/fuel pump/fuel pump relay problem. If you have a spare key try it.

My '01 Santa Fe awd v-6 has a new transmission, now sometimes won

Bases on the limited info provided, most likely the ignition switch. If you list the symptoms you experience when it doesn't start it would be easier to diagnose your problem for example: does it crank? does the key turn and do nothing? etc. Hope this answers your question.

Hyundai santa fe 03 running problems

If your Santa Fe has a V6 engine 2.7L , it sounds like you have an ignition break down happening. You will need to renew all the ignition wires and check the two coils also for arcing .
