How do i take the fuelpump out of the plastic casing without breaking the plastic on a 2001 chevy prizm

I'm not sure why you would take the fuel pump out of the plastic casing because I thought that when you got to the newer vehicles that the pump came W/ a complete new unit. The reason is because the unit has all the senders or sensors for your fuel guage & other warning lights in the dash. If you do have to take the pump out like in the old vehicles, BE SURE TO CLEAN ALL GAS OUT OF THE UNIT. Take a large set of channel locks & try to turn the pump in the unit. Sometimes a shot of carb. cleaner will help to release it. IF THAT DON'T work, CLEAN THE UNIT OUT AGAIN.... The reason is because of what I'm going to tell you to try. I have used a HAIR DRYER to get the pumps out BUT YOU HAVE TO BE VERY CAREFUL, "NO GAS FUMES OR BOOM". Use the dryer to heat the plastic around the pump, just enough to make it swell but NOT enough to MELT it. Get the channel locks & try again. A VERY LIGHT COAT OF OIL OR GREASE can be placed on the new pump for easier instullation. I hope that this helps you, take your time, & all will work out. GOD BLESS.....

They usually pry off, it there are no screws showing. Best to pry with something flat and plastic or wrap tape around a screw driver and pry off evenly as the plastic tabs or pins that go into the metal clips in the dash are easy to break off.

Start at bottom of door with a small pry bar. Should be some plastic rivots that pop loose. Place pry bar under door panel and turn slowly in a twisting motion. Should start to pop free.

Try with this procedure...
1) Start with opening the driver's side door and lowering the window. Remove lock lever (1A).
2) Using a plastic pry bar [slotted screwdriver], slowly pry plastic cover to reveal screw.

CAUTION: These plastic covers are fragile and break easily. Be very gentle in disengaging them.

3) Remove screw with a 10mm socket.
4) Slowly pry plastic cover using a plastic pry bar [slotted screwdriver].
5) Remove the (2) revealed screws with a 10mm socket.
6) Pry off the door panel controller using a plastic pry bar. Disconnect wiring and remove the controller.
7) With the plastic pry bar, pry around the triangular panel as shown.
8) Lift up and slowly pull door panel out partially.
9) Release the door lever rod with a needle nose pliers. Remove and set door panel aside.

Find and remove all exposed screws and carefully pry panel away from door

There is a screw behind the handle, two down in the hand grab, and may be some running along the bottom. after you get them out everything else is held with plastic clips. if you don't have the tool to remove them you can use a screw driver to pry them out. your probably going to break some as you take it apart. pretty normal. you can get new ones at the parts store. take the driver and start in a bottom corner, pry out, get your fingers under the panel and pull out. you can pretty much tell where the clips are when you start pulling. try to get driver as close as possible to clips when prying, keeping pressure out on the panel with hand, you will do fine

nope not without removing center console it there metal items u could try magnet but center console really not that hard to remove to remove center console look to see if any screws on top part if not more than likely just clips holding it on pry up gently if it just clips should come up farily easy if u have to put alot of force against it your missing screws or something look closer if u can get top cover off u should be able to get at items

Use a long flat head screw driver with electrical tape wrapped around it(to prevent scratches). Have some one help you and hold a light so you can see the snaps on the inside, be really nice about it and pry the panel from the door frame.

Every door panel is preety much the same. They have a screw by the mirror, a screw on the inside door handle. You also have to remove widow crank or power buttons. Everything is removable with a philips and flathead screwdriver.
Now for the door panel itself; They have little plastic screws that you have to pry off one by one.
When you use your flathead screwdriver, you must put it as close to the plastic screw as possible to avoid breaking it. Just pry up one by one and the door panel will eventually loosen up all the way. Then pull up and it will come off.
To put back on: make sure all screws and holes are line up before pushing back inour the screws will break. You can tap them on with just your hand.

there are 4 torx T-15 screws, one in the rear map pocket, one under the air bag logo plastic clip, one under the wood trim (pry the trim off carefully), and one holding the door handle assembly (also revealed when you remove the wood burl cover). Pick up a pry tool at autozone, about 5 bucks to pry the clips out without breaking
