should lock and unlock but as to popping the hatch depends on options on vehicle and fob programming some fobs have the open button which would be an option look in owners manual it explains how to use fob
Do you mean it won't start, or won't crank. You should have a neutral safety switch between the key switch and the starter to prevent you from cranking the engine in drive or reverse. A defective switch would keep the engine from cranking. A mechanic would check for voltage at the starter on the wire from the key switch and go from there.
if the valve timing is too far out the problem may be that one of the valves is open when it should'nt be & the piston is hitting it, if you try to keep starting the engine you may cause serious damage to it (if you have'nt already done so),it may be best to get a qualified mechanic to set the timing for you.....hope this helps.....cheers
