I have a 1998 Cadillac Seville with Electrical problems . No one can trace it . New battery drains over nite . Car will die while driving . What can it be ?? Thanks .

Have you tested the pigs tail at the alternator to see if you are get 14.4 volt from the alternator if not you have got a charging system problem as I have seen this alot in the UK the car loses the power from the ingniotion side of the start/charge system.
I you are still having problems let me now & I will try to make to a diagram for a stan alone system.

on my 1998 Deville its located in the trunk. the panel thats is butted up to the back of the rear seat. look for some black nuts around the top of rim of the trunk, they are about 1'' long, these have to be removed first... good luck.....

Try Item #1 first it is the easiest.
Then Check the small water pump belt, it is not the serpentine belt.
The next step is to either check the Block with the following block tester available from NAPA
The part number is 700-1006
or change the thermostat dealer cost about 60.00 AUTOZONE about 40.00 You will need to purchase the Gasket with which ever you purchase from.

One by one, disconnect the fuses until you see no change on a volt/ohm meter connected to the battery with the engine not running.

run car and tap on the side of p.c.m. if car spuders idles funny. any thing out of ordinary . p.c.m needs replacing. it should be located in engine compartment where the air filter is
