Some heater cores come in a plastic case. If yours does, you have to remove it as a set. Disconnect hoses from inside the engine compartment and remove all hardware that holds it in place. Once free to remove, careful not to spill antifreeze inside your car.
Take a look at this video of replacing the window lift regulator which of course requires removal of the door panel to access the regulator, it should give you the basic knowledge to locate the hidden screws you must remove to get the panel off.. LINK
This will happen to me once in a while, but all I have to do is give the top a push up and it'll start moving. But I'm sure you've already tried that solution .... good luck
