Low oil pressure? It's not your pump. It the crankshaft bearings. I have never replaced an oil pump for low pressure. Always the bearings. I have replaced them because I did the rebuild or someone just wanted a high pressure pump. Don't waste your time on just a pump, only to have the same results. If you really like the car and it is worth it to you. Build the engine...It is 30 years old.
Stock replacement Bosch or NGK plugs are pregapped so they don't need to be gapped. Gaps are usually .035 if its a single electrode...Where you buy your pluge can tell you for sure.
I had that problem in my 2006 BMW 316i. The timing chain became slack which neccetated having it replaced at 67K miles. Engine was only driving at very low power because of this. Note; Oil had been changed at recommended times.
Not entirely sure what you're trying to ask, so I'll take a shot in the dark. maybe you're asking - "what model years was the BMW 316i produced?"
If so, it was produced 1990-1993 (with a 99hp engine) and from
1994-1998 (with a 101hp engine). More here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_3_Series_%28E36%29
i had this problem with my 1990 316i and had to replace the fuel pump. the pump can be expensive but with a little doctoring with the return pipe a cheaper pump will do. hope this helps
Join up at www.carforums.co.za and post in the motoring forum. There are some very knowledgeable local boys there. Oil service: Replace oil + filter
Inspection 1 service Oil and oil filter A/C microfilter
Inspection 2 Air filter Oil and oil filter Spark plugs ATF(transmission fluid) Diff oil Fuel filter A/C micro filter
All of the above are to be done with inspection on the braking system, suspension linkages, wheel bearings, lights etc. Coolant is to be replaced every 3 years, clutch and brake fluid every 2 years.
You have a bad head gasket. You are leaking coolant into the engine block through the cylinders. This is why you have white smoke, and the extra coolant that doesnt get burned off is going into your oil.
