If it runs ok when its warm you may need a new Idle air control or IAC...what it does is adds fuel when the car is cold to help it run smooth until it warms up...kinda like a choke on a lawn mower or other small equipment. There should be a sensor on the throttle body....with the car running, unplug the sensor...if it runs differently its probably ok...if it runs the same when unplugged...its probably bad.
Another thing to check is the mass airflow sensor....which is usually in the tube that goes to the airbox. If you locate the mass air sensor, either remove the sensor or remove the tube and look down it....you should see a "needle" sticking down into the tube...sometimes in the middle of a screen or honeycomb..thats the mass air sensor...buy a can of Mass Airflow Cleaner at the auto parts store and follow the direction....they are very delicate so be careful.
If I had to bet...I would say its you IAC.
