If you are saying everything is ok when the engine first starts but number one starts to miss when at operating temp. Sounds like the number one coil has developed a internal crack that opens up when hot or at operating temp..causing a miss.change it.but before changing the coil check the spark plug wire it may be breaking down when hot..good luck
If you check fuel pressure when the engine is cold and at operating temp, it should be around 40psi both times. Anything above 50 psi would be too high, which could be caused by a restriction in the return line or the fuel pressure regulator.
ever change your fuel filter??? them cars are real bad for bleeding air from engine if you say changed the rad, had serious leak and topped it up again.. over cool sounds like you had a previous overheat and the thermostat is now stuck open....thet effects mpg because the long warm up time tricks the temp sensor into thinking its cold . temp sensor is todays choke on fuel injected cars. it tells computor to dump extra fuel....so it can act like its "flooded" some temp guages work both the computor and the dash gage, some cars have two , one dash one computor, new costs around twenty bucks and filter should be around ten
when's the last time you did a full tune up? (air and fuel filter, plugs, wires, cap, rotor) or could be a number of things. i would look at the temp sensor. i believe when they fail, they peg out all the way cold or all the way hot. so your car thinks it is still cold, when you have reached operating temps, causeing your misfire. good-day !
If you run it without a t stat, the engine won't reach proper operating temp. The computer will always think that the engine is cold and will add far more fuel than necessary. That will result in horrible gas mileage, fouling of spark plugs, and other sensor problems as well as potentially contaminating the engine oil with unburned fuel. In other words, Don't do that!!!
IF YOU GOT GAS ENGINE.PROBLEM COULD BE STOPPED UP FUEL FILTER OR WEAK FUEL PUMP.LOW ENGINE COMPRESSION.BAD SPARK PLUG + WIRES + ROTOR AND CAP ALSO BAD COIL CAUSING WEAK SPARK.IF YOU HAVE DIESEL ENGINE SLUGGISH.PROBLEM COULD BE RESTRICTED AIR FILTER DIESEL.INJECTION PUMP TIMING OUT OF ADJUSTMENT.FAULTY EGR AND EPR VALVES.RESTRICTED EXHAUST SYSTEM STOPPED UP MUFFLER PLUGGED FUEL FILTER.PLUGGED FUEL TANK DUE TO FAULTY FUEL CAP.MISSING PROBLEM COULD BE CAUSED BY DIRTY OR FAULTY INJECTORS. THE INJECTION PUMP TIMING OFF. AIR IN FUEL.OR FUEL RETURN SYSTEM RESTRICTED.STOPPED UP FUEL FILTER.OR USING INCORRECT FUEL OR ITS CONTAMINATED.
