First check all fuses this is done by using a test light 12 volt . put one end to ground or negiative side of battery. touch other end to fuse with key on the light should light on both sides if only one side lights up replace the fuse. if no fuses are bad I suggest testing the alternator .if this was helpful please leave good feed back

take out the lighter socket and you wil see a plastic piece on the end of the harness that connects to the socket. Pry it open with a small screwdriver BE Careful there are 2 small pieces in there. If they are not connected with solder, that is the problem. You will have to solder them back again and then test with volt tester to make sure you have juice. That should solve it.

They probably share the same fuse. Sounds like cig lighter coil is shorted and "fiddling around" blew the fuse. Replace the fuse and try a different lighter coil.

SOURCE: Charging problem.. Wont charge battery

The instructions for installing a new alternator usually read to fully charge the battery (12.3 - 12.8 volt range). Otherwise, the alternator will be damaged when it initializes. I have seen some extreme damage result from installing a new alternator with a low-charge battery. The torque required to turn an alternator when damaged in this scenario is unbelieveable!

Why did my radio and my cig. lighter stopped working?

I wish I had a dollar for every time I have heard "All fuses are OK" or "I already checked the fuse" or "I know it's not the fuse"....I'd be a rich man!

When cigarette lighters quit working, 99% of the time the fuse is blown because someting got plugged into it like a defective phone charger. The other 1% of the time, it is because the lighter element is burned out or somebody essed with the wires to the cigarette lighter trying to install some kind of aftermarket equipment.

Humor me and check Fuse #9 (20 Amp) in the passenger side fuse and relay box.

Need to know the output power from my cigarette lighter port

Hi, you have a 15 amp fuse to run all 3 sockets. Total peak power available without burning the fuse is 15x12=180 watts peak. Please let me know if you have more questions.

My child pushed in the cigarette lighter until

you could be lucky and the fuse blew, and it could be a burned wire, check the fuse panel and replace the fuse if blown, if it blows again you have to fix the wires, and possible the cigarette lighter if it got damaged

Cant find radio fuse

I'm sorry if this sounds a little too vague, but when the exact same thing happened to our Accord, my husband handled it and I wasn't really involved. Someplace you should have a card (It's either in with your papers if you bought the car new or if you bought it used, hopefully the last owners left in the glovebox or ? .) that has a 'security code' on it for 'resetting' the radio, etc. (There's some sort of an auto-shut-off in case someone is trying to steal your radio, etc..). When you follow the directions on the card and punch-in the numbers, it automatically resets and the radio and lighter* come back on (*BTW, I'm not sure if our lighter ever went out...??). If you can't find the card, then you'll have to go into a Honda dealership (They will NOT give out the # over the phone!) and by using your VIN they can look-up your #, although I don't know if they charge for this service or not. Hope this is of some help to you! BEST OF LUCK!
