I assume you're talking about the ecm setting a code for memory loss?

If so, i'd take it to the dealer and have them reload the ecm. that will overwrite the code in the ecm. after that i'd have them upgrade the can net software.

The upgrade is supposed to complimentary, but who know's if they'll honor it or not. the software number for the can net upgrade is s/w: 8691431

If the code continues, the ecm may have an internal failure and may need to be replaced.

loss of power is fuel problems ( pump or injectors )

Loss of power s80 volvo slowing down and going round corners seems like you have let your foot off excelarator
Sounds like a Fuel Pump that is ready to die. Have your Fuel Pressure tested to make sure. Volvo is very good about making the Fuel Pump easy to access through a hatch in the floor of the Trunk or under the back seat.

What can be done if a radio reads off when switched on after battery has been temporarily removed?
You will just have to re-set your stations, etc. Very common when the battery is disconnected or removed. In case the code is lost, I taped mine to the top of the radio and kept a copy in the glovebox. A dealer should be able to supply a radio code from your registration.

Yes you will. There's a plug you can buy at an auto parts place you will also need a 9 volt battery, that will save your memory, fit's in the cigarette lighter make sure your lighter plug works.just plug in to lighter will save memory while to switch battery out.
