front, sides and rear of block, these are core clean plugs and not "coolant plugs"

Check coolant temp sensor. Is tailpipe black?

THE CRANK SENSOR IS LOCATED ON THE ENGINE BLOCK NEAR TRANSMISION BUT CALL YOUR DEALER THIS TRUCK HAVE A RECALL FOR THE SENSOR

the sensor has a bolt fixing so an appropriate sized spanner is all thats required tool wise Labelled no 6 by the thermostat housing

The air temp sensor is behind the intake surge tank. I do not have a picture of the sensor by itself.

The purge valve is under the car by the driveshaft and looks like this

I do not have specific instructions for replacing these parts, but I think the temperature sensor unscrews. You may want to use a little teflon tape on the new sensor to seal the threads.

For the purge sensor, remove the vapor hoses and unclamp it from the bracket.

For each sensor, the connector will have a tab you have to press to get the connector off of the part.

hi thanks for reply may i suggest you check your engines COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR this is not the temp sender unit which operates guage but a sensor which relays temp of coolant ie cold to the ecu and so informs for cold start required ! on older trucks/vehicles this was done by manual device on pump excess fuel delivered then when started auto cuts off same princple but now auto thro ecu+sensor if you had said smoke was heavy blue/blackish when engine eventually started ? this would have certainly been one or two glow plugs not working at optimum however? this seems not the case on your engine so points to ctsensor peugeot use a cable operated coolant sensor which works ok but yours is auto elec so may i suggest 1st check sensor wiring/plug are secure/clean also this sensor is screw into coolant engine block and looks like larger version of temp sender ? which if you check your manual it should give location and is easy enough to change ? hope this info helps ?

Sounds like a defective coolant temperature sensor. You didn't tell us which engine is in your Santa Fe. 2.4 4cylinder, 2.7 V6? or the 3.5 V6?
Without diagnosing this problem myslef, there are several probable causes (first, coolant temp sensor), next could be wiring, ECM, welded contacts in cooling fan relay, short in relay circuit, etc.
