Engine lights read transmission faults as well as engine faults
have the fault codes read to find the problem sensor

the sensor is in behind the nosecone. but this should not effect the ac system . it would it the inside temp sender said that in the auto mode only. put it in defrost mode and the compressor should be on if not you have another problem (maybe low on freon)

Try to bleed the system. Also keep an eye on the coolant level. If it drops and you see no leaks the you could have a blown head gasket. Also replace the thermostat and hoses.
