When i turn key to start the power steering pump starts running and car not starting

well first the fuel pump relay is bad, that is easily replaced. next you have no spark. the first thing you do is take the cap off the distributerand crank the engine. if it spins that tell syou thyat at least the tang or gear on the shaft of the distributor is ok and not broken. next thing is remove the #1 plug and use a 1/4 drive extension 6" long and turn the crank by hand until the #1 cylinder is top dead center(put the extension in the hole of head where the plug was and you should feel the top of the piston also make sure you can feel the top of the piston with half the extension this way you don't drop it in the cylinder with the piston at TDC(top dead center) the rotor of the distributor should be pointed at the #1 firing position. IF it does not that means your timing is off and you need to retime it by taking off timing cover and either replacing the belt/chain or gears. now if you do not have a distributor and you have a coil pack there could be only 2 things that won't give spark. either a bad coil or your altenater is bad(the battery is responsible for starting not running the vehicle like alot of people assume. the altenator energizes the coil which inturngives spark. hope this helps you please rate this thanks

You may want to try replacing the spark plug wires. I had a problem with my car not starting occasionally - eventually I figured out that it happened more when it had just rained or was particularly damp outside. This was because when it was wetter outside, the air was more conductive and the electricity would be more likely to spark to the engine block instead of going to the spark plugs. Although you may still see sparks in the spark plugs when this is happening, they will be weaker and may just not be strong enough to get it started.

If you go outside at night and start the engine with the hood open and can see sparks flying from the wires to your engine block or other parts of your car (they may be very faint), you may want to go replace your wires.

i got the same car as urs. its seems to me that its the classic problems that you have. To slove them. Dont go to a dealer, coz they ll rip u off. Now, check on DIY guide for uninstalling ABS moudle. Go to ebay, find urself a ABS Moudle rebuild. 60-80bugs. put it back on. It ll slove ur limb home mode, speed meter drop to 0 when driving. flashing arrow. Contact volvo, buy urself a new ignition antena ring, 50bugs. and once again. look for DIY guide for installation. I replace both of them myself for less than an hour. u might need to buy some special torx for abs moudle tho. but it wont be a big deal. Hope it helps you.
