New fob battery, touch the contacts inside put it back together no show, fuses in the car ok,,now what I can use the keys but I can't turn off the immobiliser to go anywhere...
I had the same problem with my Kia 2001 Sportage, it would have cost me $575 for Kia to reprogram the fob, but instead I had no option but to have the entire alarm system removed, and stuck with the stock (factory) alarm.
But, if you want to release the immobilizer,,, shut all the doors, and lock the driver door with the key, this will in-turn enable to alarm, then unlock the driver door, which should disable the alarm and also disable the immobilizer.
When replacing the key fob battery there is no reprogramming required! If the key fob was working prior to the battery replacement then it would point to the contacts not being correct! Remove key fob battery and start again!
