This is something that would be best done by the dealer due to the airbag being in the steering wheel , that being said if you wish to attack this on your own still you have to unplug any power [battery, back up battery, stereo amps stiffening capacitors etc] then there are some small screws on the back of the steering wheel that need to come out before the horn/airbag assembly will come out to allow you to disconnect and replace the steering wheel switches depending on the accessories on your truck you may also need to remove the steering column covers before you can acess the scews in the back of the steeringwheel. be VERY cautious of the airbag connectors and wires but you would still be safer and better off letting a dealer change those out for you.

If the steering is somewhat turned. or in a bind. i have seen cars and trucks, specially with large wheels grab the steering wheel and turn it back, to release the bind then the key should turn. it does not take much to release

Can I change my tires to a 265 R16 size, the actual original size of my GMC 2500 Sierra HD tires are 245 R16. My pick up have 6.6 diesel engine with an allison 6 speed transmition, and 2 x 4 configuration.

1st number is tread width (mm)265
r =speed rating
2nd is wheel size, in inches 16
the rule of thumb re tread width, is the tread should not exceed the inner wheel width,measured inside the wheel/tyre sealing area by more then 20mm.
otherwise car will tend to sway when steered for moose test.so check your wheels first...
r rating only good upto 100 mph intermitently...
