I have a 2013 nissan altima and I can't get it out of park. I've checked the battery, alternator, brake lights and all seems to be functioniing fine. I have to use the bypass button to get it out of park to drive. What could it be/ I've read that it might be as simple as a fuse or fliping a switch to changing the entire gear shifter. Any thoughts?

There is a release solenoid that unlocks the shifter when the brake pedal is pressed. On some vehicles it is integrated into the brake light switch; on others there is a second switch mounted adjacent to the one for the brake lights. The switch or the solenoid could be defective.

Why does 2003 Nissan Altima brake and battery light intermittently come on car die like it has dead battery then start and seem fine?

Easy fixes would be to check and clean relays and fuses, check the battery cables, and the grounding cable. Might be the starter solenoid also.

Grounding cable usually goes from the starter to the chassis, or from the engine to the chassis.

The cable might seem okay on top, but can be corroded (if it's copper, it's most likely oxidized through and can't get a contact.)

My 2005 nissan altima won't change from park when crunk up. what could be the problem?

Usually a sign of a faulty brake light switch or lock solenoid on the shifter. You may be able to get the shifter out of park by turning the key to the unlock position but not "on".
There may be a button you can push next to the shifter to unlock in an emergency. Check your owners manual.

My 1994 nissan altima dash lights dim and paking lights dim when i press on the brake pedal. doesn't matter if the car is off or on. loosing my mind whats left of it. please help.

Gday ate, geoff here, well it would seem that the brake lights are trying to earth through the park light system as they are in the same socket in the rear, check the earths from the light pack at the rear, and the then go from there tracing the earth circut even to the point of cleaning rust, mould/moss from them, geoff.

Car won't start

It sounds like your battery has had it! IF you can jump start it, try to go to a battery store or a service garage to have your battery and alternator checked. If no other warning lights were previously on, it is possible that the battery just up and died. Otherwise, I would suspect the alternator.
Also, make sure teh parking brake is NOT engaged while driving.

Brake and battery lights stay on

when both lights stay on with the car running it usually indicates an alternator that is not charging at an acceptable voltage level. check the battery voltage with the car running, if it is under 13.5V you should replace your alternator.
