94 honda accord ''D4'' gear shift shift selector blinks

I there,
I have a 94 accord with auto transmission (170,000 miles on vehicle). Lately I jumped in the car and went to start it. The car will turn over but not start. I looked at the gear selector and the D4 was blinking. I moved gear shift selector back and forth several times, pulled the key out of ignition. I inserted the key and the blinking light went away and car started. I am headed on a road trip in 2 weeks. Is this a quick fix? Cost for me to do it vs. dealer?

the key doesn't have a battery. Just a question, why would it be the fuel pump if it runs fine after it is started? Problem is when I try to start it, not after it is running. Help please. Del

Theres a transmission cooling sensor and somtimes the wire comes loose from other repairs being done around it. or its just out. its on the left side sitting on the tranny. THATS WHY your d4 light is blinking

D4 light on means transmission fault of some sort. Have the vehicle scanned as soon as possible, because it might be a minor glitch, and the transmission could be saved. Have in mind that these transmissions (1998-2002)are notoriously prone to fail around 60-80000 miles. If rebuilt with the remedial kit (i dont remember the proper name for this), the transmission tends to work normally.

92 honda accord lx D4 flashes

you have a transmission fault the D4 light blinks to tell you that there is a transmission problem when the light is blinking the transmission computer put the transmission into limp home mode so it will not shift normally and you should try not to drive it very far when it gets to this stage you need to have the transmission codes check to pin point the problem

1992 honda accord. The gear shift will be in D 4 But the shifting lights for Park will come on and both lights will start blinking.

The d4 light will blink when there are codes in the tcu. You need to have the codes read on the transmission computer.

92 Honda Accord

Blinking light means there is a trouble code. There is a procedure to manually pull codes from the computer.Have the codes checked, have them written down.It could be just shift solenoids,or could even be something more serious, but thats the starting point.
