run fault codes and look fro problem HO2 Sensor or O2 sensor or possible ignition timing fault
it could be uncontrolled combustion from a lean mixture or timing problem
check the octane rating of the fuel in use

At a steady 65 mph, the torque converter clutch (TCC) is engaged. When you accelerate, the ECU disengages the TCC to gain extra torque for acceleration and then re-engages TCC when speed is steady. Its kind of like having an extra gear.

does it change pitch when the steering wheel is turned?

replace the cabin air filter most are behind the glove box put directions come with most replacement filters

Do you notice does the problem seem to worsen in rain or humid weather? Try checking the MAF sensor it may just need to cleaned it can cause problems like this. Be sure to use MAF cleaner nothing else. The sensor may also be bad but try cleaning it first, its cheap and only takes about ten minutes.

nobody will buy it if they can't hear it running , they probably also want to do a compression and oil pressure test

Yes your car is a piece of junk. Sorry, not trying to be rude but it's a lemon as well as every single 2006 gs300. Not because the front end alignment issue but because the engine is garbage. If you haven't had the $6k piston ect. Engine rebuild you will soon, and if you have had it done sooner or later you're gonna have to have it done again and by now the extended warranty for that problem is up or almost up on your car. Bottom line the engine is junk and lexus doesn't stand by their product.

Sounds like a fuel problem, Bad fuel pump relay of actual fuel pump check relay first may be working intermittently.( Replace relay first before going to pump). Good luck thanks for using FIX YA
