2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Logo
Anonymous Posted on Dec 26, 2014

Hello, I have a Grand Cherokee Laredo, 2001, 3,1TD engine. I have a issue with my heating system: The Jeep is not heating enough, reads about 60 degrees C. I have changed the the thermostat, but the result is the same. I just wonder if somebody can give me a reasonable explanation what's causing that and how can I fix it. Thanks in advance.

My first question would be is there any drivability issues with the vehichle for instance lack of power, poor fuel economy, miss fire, or check engine light on.

Thermostat was the right start. The heat works by using heated coolant and pumping it through a heater core. If you take the jeep to a local garage to have the heater core flushed this should fix the problem.

1993 Laredo. Does it have two fuel filters?

are you on wrong forum, Grand cherokee is it?
the XJ jeep is not a ZJ jeep. which is it, the big GRAND ZJ?
what a great question, actually cars with EFI all have 3 filters...
sorry to shock you.

1: the fuel sock , below the pump , to catch loose golf balls. LOL.
dead bugs, etc.
2: the pump output line has a filter., all do, can be in tank (newer cars) or just outside (did you look first or post first) bingo!
3: then each injector has 10 micron size screens. the above keeps these clean, saving $120 for injector service and labor R&R.

and what engine, not posted engine size on engine questions
the fuel system matches ENGINE type, on all cars made.
4.0L engine ????

ive owned both a grand laredo and not grand laredo 1988 to 2010

Have high oil pressure reading when driving goes down to 55-60 when sitting at light,2000 jeep grand cherokee laredo 2-wheel drive 4.0 litre engine

the 1st thing that needs to be done is have a mechanical oil pressure test gauge hooked up to confirm the actual reading, the electronic gauge many times is incorrect.

1993 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LAREDO IM TOTALLY BAFFLED

Back up a minute...Do you have spark from the coil wire? (juice from coil) If so, change or check rotor and cap (wires do not all go bad at same time so unless they are wet, likely at least good enough to start engine)
