First eliminate the fuel flow, replace the fuel filter. It starts and runs, pump is OK. Then I would go back to the exhaust. Remove an O2 sensor before the catalytic converter. One is fine. It will be louder. If it runs better at picks up speed, then the cats are clogging up.

1999 jeep grand cherokee laredo failed the 15 mph test but past the 25mph test. mechanic says catalytic converter. Anything I can do to make sure or to get it passed before 2nd opinion?

I would think the mechanic had checked for codes or history of codes. If the cause is a defective converter there is not a lot you can do except replace. You cannot repair a catylitic converter.

04 jeep grand cherokee v6 - i was driving on the highway when the engine overheated and turned off and would not start until it cooled. what could be wrong or what could i check to find out? thanks

Hi.

Common fault is fuel pump getting damaged after engine overheating.

The pump is located in fuel tank, to know if pump is working, check fuel pressure using an hand gauge. It is available for $25 or so.

Check if there is coolant. If engine restarts check coolant level, if that goes down, then the head gasket has been damaged.

If fuel pressure is OK, check injection and distribution.

2004 jeep grand cherokee special edition engine light on take foot off brake doesn't creep forwar, put foot on gas rpms go up but jeep only goes about 15 mph. THEN it worked just fine!!! Now the lights...

Get the check engine light checked you need to figure out the codes. Could be low on tranny fluid. If rpms go up and only moves for a short distance at 15 mph. Could be tranny fluid.

Automatic door locks wont work on my 2004 jeep grand cherokee

There is a broken wire in the rubber casing between the door and the vehicle. Take the rubber casing off and you will more than likely find a broken wire or one about to break. Been there and done that.
