Here is what my book says:
Blower Motor Speed Control To Remove:

  1. Remove the right lower instrument panel insulator.
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the blower motor speed control.
  3. Remove the blower motor speed control mounting screws.
  4. Remove the blower motor speed control.

Sound like your blower resistor is bad if it works on HI and nothing else...you can find that behind the glove box on the heater/a/c assembly, near the motor....hope this helped...GL

I have a 2005 Chev Avalanche. The heater blower does not work on the high setting but works fine on settings 1 through 4.

I looked at 05 avalanche 1500--automatic hvac. The blower fuse is hot all the time. The fuse has an input leg and output leg, even if the fuse is blown, the input leg would still have voltage. If no voltage, you could use jumper wire connected to voltage on the output side of fuse cavity to see if blower would work. If you use jumper, use an inline fuse.
Yes, it could be something wrong with fuse box or wiring circuit?

Ac blower motor stopped working

YJ car.
the blower is dead. is that it?
does it blow full speed on high
do you have 12v on terminal A of blower , term B is 0v ground
got that, then the blower is dead.
if not 12v, then the controls are bad.

WHERE DO I FIND MY RESISTERS FOR MY HEATER BLOWER SO I CAN REPLACE THEM

Under dash panel,or behind glove box on most of vehicles.

HEATER BLOWER MOTOR

Its faulty blower motor resistor. The low and medium speed on blower motor is controlled by resistor and its actual speed is high. So because resistor is not working, blower motors actual speed which is high is working.

It can be faulty blower motor or faulty blower motor resistor. Get the blower motor inspected. If it's faulty it has to be replaced.

Need to replace ac/heater fan resistor I am not sure of the location does anyone know? Thank You

The Blower Motor Resistor is located on the passenger side firewall, not far from your A/C's H-Valve (or expansion valve), going inside of the vehicle. The blower motor resistor has a 4 or 5 way black connector plugged into it and this is the only visible portion of the Resistor you will see. Remove the wiring connector and remove the 2 or 3 screws with an 8 mm or 5/16" socket (8 mm and 5/16" are the same). Once the screws or fasteners are removed, just pull the blower motor resistor out of the firewall and if you look at it, it will have various coils of wire on it, sometimes it will show burnt coils, but you can always check the various coils with an Ohm-meter.

Aside from that, install the new Blower Motor Resistor and Voilà! Your inside Blower Motor should work just fine.

A brief note here, if your fan doesn't work when the fan switch is on High, then it's not the Blower Motor Resistor, but possibly the Blower Motor itself. Should this occur, please get back to me insofar as how to replace the blower motor and why the blower motor's wires have to be twisted...even with the new blower motor fan.

Best of Luck,

Heater blower switch only works in postions 3 and 4

When this happends, it usely is caused by a bad blower motor resister. I can't tell you if it is a seperate unit or if its built into the blower motor . If its a seperate unit it should be located close to the blower on the heater box, if its in the motor you will have to replace the motor.

The heater / ac blower only works on high. It is not the blower or the control switch or the blower motor relay. Please help. Thank George

It is the blower resister. I purchasted one at auto zone for $18.00. It is located under the passenger side dash. You need to remove the glove box and the plastic cover under the dash to expose the blower motor. the blower motor resister is right next to the motor. Simply unplug the resister remove the two screws and replace. I did this and now my fan works on all speeds.
