ECU has failed and would like to use manual operation for front seats. The seat has the heater relay in the spare slot the manual mentions. How is it achieved in the 44000 series
I suppose you could run jumper wires directly to the portion of the seat you wish to energize, but with such a nice car, why not fix it correctly?
David if you knew anything about a PMC/Rolls you would know you don't waltz into a shop and have the car back in a week or two. My last electric repair required several months between getting parts and finding a mechanic who knew what they were doing!~~
Ray I am in the same situation, I'd love to use my car through the end of the season and then send it in for repair for the winter months. I am always amused when answers like the one above come across any forum in relation to a PMC/Rolls Royce. Mine is a Spur IV 1997 and was laid up for more than 9 months for a new ECU for the engine. Cost was about $26,000.00!
You may, if not already a member, consider joining the Rolls Royce Owners Club (RROC) and access their forum as many members who have previously experienced this may have a workaround. Depending on what state you are in and model you may be able to find someone who can repair over the down time for winter.... in the meantime, I am going to enjoy mine until she goes into for service after the season ends.
