1998 Kia sportage 2.0 16v 128hp high engine idle (3000 rpm) and high fuel consumption checked and replaced: air leakage, fuel pressure,injector, TP sensor, MAF sensor, idle air control valve, EGR and wiring for them. all ok no error code if I disconnect tp sensor or idle air control valve, RPM is ok (about 850) I mounted second TP sensor, throttle unbound if the throttle is closed, and the sensor is in the open position the engine runs normally if the throttle is closed, and the sensor is in the closed position the engine runs at 300RPM

Yes it is high if it still does that when it is warm. Cold idle speed is higher. Perhaps they will slow it down at first service.

The burning smell could be due to gas leakage in the engine compartment. The gas smell is being sucked into the fresh air intake of the air conditioner. It can be avoided by checking either fuel pressure regulator or fuel injector.

I have 2005 Kia Sportage with a check engine light. No other symptoms. I was told by Kia and Local mechanic that it is the fuel injectors. Error Code states that Fuel injectors are running lean. Put Master airflow- no change. Ran engine test with propane to run rich and trim never changed from 15. Car runs great. Kia dealer said that this is because we use Ethel in gas that it effects the alumium fuel rail delivery to the injectors and that it is necessary to change all of them .Kia Dealer wants $1,000.00 deposit to place order 6 fuel injectors from Kia. (Has anyone heard of that?)Also put fuel injector cleaner in tank.Does anyone have any suggestions before I spend over $1,000.00 to replace all 6 injectors or possible idea of what could be wrong?

if the car is stock i would replace your oxygen sensor. you may also need to clean out the MAF sensor.
