I cannot figure out why it will not work, but if it helps to figure out the cause/solution, my memory wire on my radio does not work either. If the memory wire has nothing to do with it, I know that the constant power wire usually has a fuse somewhere in the wiring. Could somebody tell me where that fuse is, if that's not the problem to the interior light.
OWN a $8 DMM meter> its easy. (no computers here)
i guess you lost the cover that names them and lost the operators guide, in the glove box,? both?
what interior lamp, there are many some cars 20 or more.
DOME lamps? or dash lamps, and if dash what.
i have the full prism drawings. so ill try to find this out with bad inputs.
your statement about memory wire is wrong, many cars the dome lamp runs the ECU and radio memory.
can I assume all else works head lights and parking lights (tail)
The DOME fuse is marked DOME.
and runs the doom and all door active overhead lamps.
5 lamps total, luggage, dome, and personal.
if the main light, (it has its own switch) is dead that means
the lamp is bad or the fuse DOME is blown.
the fuse will have 12vdc on both sides
in fact one side goes directly to the battery main fuse.
i then open the radio page and the clock and radio memory
both get power from DOME fuse.
so this time test the fuse.
or learn where it is.
so i google for you and 2nd hit, wins

rule of fuses
if they look bad they are.
if they look good, they can be in fact, bad (hair cracks)
that is why we use a volt meter live to test them.
dome works key off
so 12vdc on both sides, all day.
the dome fues is top center here, silly how we cant show bigger.?
Testimonial: "is that the schematic diagram for the fuse panel under the dash?"
I did not know for sure how the wiring went. But the dome light and the cargo/trunk light neither one work and never have. My headlights, tail lights, runnning lights, dash lights, everything works except my dome light, trunk light, and memory wire
the fuse is called dome, and is stated on the box cover and in the operators guide and in the FSM, and all over the internet, google finds it 1st hit, use google if $15 login is scary, why would that?
lets see if the opr guide is online, and we can put it back in the glove box. geo or toy.? http://www.amazon.com/1994-Geo-Prizm-Own...
btw, toyota took down all free books. (they still sell them) and GM ? is brain dead for this. Most books assume the cover is not missing with names and you have the oper, guide, showining lacation, i see lots of posts of folks just like you lookng for books and all there are , are , ebay and amazon. get one? or google and find it using google image.

Under the dash
Testimonial: "Does that fuse apply to both my memory wire and my interior light? I know where my fuse box is. also, which fuse is it?"
we posted the links, its called DOME (and radio /clock memory) and the 2nd google link show this, see my toyota nation link above? i see it, click yet, , this question has been answererd there for 100 of times, why not just click that link above.??? and posted a schmatic abovee, and told you its used for many things, dome/clock/rad mem,) i have the drawings and is very common on all toyotas and many other cars of the era.
the car is a COROLLA ! (save a badge here and there)
the engine is 4a or 7a toy. and both are wired different. so... can be fuse boxes. so , lean to look up your car and you engine and your options, one way is to use alldata.com it asks you .
yes, read your other post, i answered it 2 times.
by the haynes book, and hope or diagram./
toyota.com says, sorry no manuals. so buy one used , or use alldata.com like most of us. Login and read it.
ok found this, 1995.... very hard to find***** http://ge.tt/6SzfVHu1/v/0?c
page 6-57 PDF page, 251 and here is a screen shot. as you can see its not in the cab at all,
now you have it all, but why do all that, use any voltmeter then measure all fuses, left and right, the one not hot, left and right, is dome, the dome fuse is hot 24/7 so... is so easy to find. in the engine bay, that is how;d id have done this , no books, at all. as they say, check all fuses first. (that means with a voltmeter or test lamp or buzzer)
i guess the under hood lid and names are missing too? really?
id did this bored to tears waiting for plane to board. Im going below the equador now.
surfs up.
have fun, Fossil.
added the second page to my answer. please find us helpful.
he and you are, in the wrong box. open hood, replace dome fuse, its clearly marked, but he can in fact login to alldata.com and read all that,
In my original post, the fuse is #13 on the page with the 3 different fusebox configurations for 3 different engine. It's under the hood, right by the battery. It works all kinds of things that run off constant battery power. Dome lights, trunk light, door ajar light, radio memory, etc.
that is correct, cars wiring do very by engine, and many other things., even COUNTRY. not one of which was disclosed by OP... but then nobody every does, we must drag it out kicking and screaming... the dome light is hot (works key off) all the time., and is used for memory funcitions on ECU and Radio. on many many cars this era.
i might add toyotanation dot com, its been posted there or years, all this,
