I have a 2006 Impala, just had the oil changed at the dealer and they told me I have a tranny line leak. How do I know if this is true? Sometimes I feel because it is out of warrenty that they make up things to fix.
Just check your parking spot when you leave. If there is oil on the ground, you have a leak. If you don't have a clean spot to park on, park on a big piece of cardboard or a sheet of plywood. Just make sure it's large enough to go from one front wheel to the other. Or, when they have it on the hoist, ask them to show you. If it's oily, it's leaking.
Look under car.if you see a lot of tranny fluid on ground.you have a tranny leak.check tranny fliud level.if its low alot you have a leak.look at tranny lines going to radiator and the tranny oil cooler lines.check governor O-ring.and torque converter seal area.also check pan bolts.if you see no leaks.there ara no leaks.
