well you need to unbolt the arm rest first. push the driver seat and passenger seat all the way forward and there is a screw in the side panel of the armrest on both sides. open the armrest and there are screws under the small cover. removed cup holder just by pulling up on it and there is 3 screws under that. pull back on the entire armrest and get it out of the way. now you can see 2 screws at the end of the black panel for your shifter-remove. also remove ashtray and there is a screw behind that. now you should be able to pull out the panel that holds the lighter.
is there a factory radio already installed or just a cover plate, if there is a cover plate use a very small screwdriver to pop the plate out (it ha two clips) you can also use a small pry tool); if there is a factory radio installed you must go under dash behind radio with a 8mm 1/4 inch drive socket with extension and remove the two screws out of the radio ,rear part of radio; if there is a center console you must remove the 2- 4 side screws and two screws in the armrest section inside or on the rear side of the console, slide it back and remove console then the radio. sometimes you have to remove the ash tray pull out; and remove the three screws in the black metal area of the ash tray mount. to remove the radio push it out from behind and it will pop right out. if your putting in an aftermarket radio not a honda radio; you can buy an electrical adapter from pep boys or other automotive supply house to attach to your wiring harness so you do not have to cut any wires. usually honda places a speaker and wiring diagram on their radios . good luck
Open up the armrest and in the bottom you will find a cover. Pry open this cover with a flathead and remove the two screws found at the bottom. Then remove the cup holder and unscrew the screw in the front corner on the left side(if sitting in the drivers seat) and ignore the two screws on the bottom of the cupholder. Now you can remove the armrest unit. Next, unscrew the two screws now visible after removing the armrest. Once these screws are removed you should be able to pop the plastic cover off from around the radio and components.
If your vehicle is an automatic, it should light up your console where the gears are marked. There's a bulb under the console. in order to get to it, you'll need to empty the console and remove the plastic piece covering the screws (very bottom of console middle) and remove the screws. Then you'll need to remove the drink holder (pops out) and remove the screws under it. Lift the rear piece of the console over the E brake, and loosen the screws to the piece with the gear indicator. You should be able to see the lamp holder and twist lock connector. If the connector hasn't just fallen out, replace the bulb and twist the connector securely back into place.
