09 Acadia, alarm activated when locksmith opened door to retrieve keys and purse locked inside. alarm shut off before key were inserted... how to reset so car will run?

if door is not locked when u reach in wont activate alarm --try lock dr and use key in lock and open dr alarm should activate in a few seconds and will shut off when key put in ignition or key fob shut off -if it does not set it off --check ur settings thru ur dash information if setting is as you want than may have to have system reflashed at dealer

try this first, make sure all doors are locked. Insert door key in drivers side door lock and turn key left for 3-5 seconds then turn to the right with a little pressure. open door. Insert key in ignition and turn to on ONLY! wait at least 30 seconds, then turn key to start allow to idle for a few minutes. If problem persists, the remote is not functioning properly. contact a locksmith for reprogramming or replacement. A lock shop will be cheaper than the dealer! Hope this helps you!

Ther is a lock at the driver door. The plastic cover where the key insert slot should be pulls off. A lock smith will have a master slide set that would be able to unlock the car. You can access the boot by opening the split fold down rear seats.

You should be able to obtain duplicate keys for your automobile from a car dealer who sells your make of car.

All you will need in the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) for your car. You can see the VIN through the windshield on the driver's side of the car. It is printed on a metal piece inserted into the dashboard of your car on the driver's side.

The automobile dealer will probably charge you for the replacement keys. Plus, you will need to travel to the auto dealer to pick up the keys, so you may need to take public transportation, taxi cab, or ask a relative or friend to drive you.

Another option: Pay a locksmith to open your car boot so you can retrieve your keys.

Note: After I did the same thing with my car keys at an airport parking lot, so I wasn't even able to get my spare car keys at home, I had a duplicate key for my car boot (which also unlocked the car doors) made and always carry it in the coin purse in my handbag.

this is a factory alarm, the problem is the alarm is active, you will need to use the door locks to turn alarm off, insert key in driversdoor and lock and then unlock door this will turn alarm off, if that doesnt work then use pass/side door, the lock has a built in switch that knows when the door is locked or opened, the driversdoor may have a bad switch so inturn the computer thinks the door was forced opened without key and it is turning alarm on, so again use the key to unlock door try the pass/side if driversdoor doesnt work. good day

Opening the drivers door with the key is supposed to shut down the factory security but the drivers key cylinder usually goes bad. You will have to unlock the rear tail gate lock cylinder with the key and that will shut down the factory security, before opening the drivers door.Your other option is to have an aftermarket keyless entry system installed, which will open the doors remotely while shut down the factory security at the same time.

Look Around Engine Compartment For A Loose Or Corroded GROUND, Like Battery To BODY They Are Sensitive to Bad Connections

If the valet key is not programmed to the Immobilzer system, it should start the car, but it will shut off. This is only if the car has an Immobilizer system. If your locksmith unlocked the car without the door key, then use the key to unlock and disarm the alarm in the door. If you triggered the alarm, the starter will be disabled till a unlock signal from a remote or the door is actually unlocked with a key. If that cannot be done, your only solution right now is to tow it to the dealership and have them make a master key and check the door locks for proper lock/unlock commands so the alarm will arm and disarm correctly.

You can try calling a locksmith and see if they can get in. Locksmiths can use a tool to open the door by catching the rod inside the door frame. The last time I used a lock smith to open a door, it ran about $35.

I suspect once the battery issue has been resolved, you will need to reprogram the key fobs or figure out how to disable the alarm.
