The battery is in the boot/trunk on the rh side under boot trim,,if you cant open trunk with the button or remote use the key in the slot in the boot finisher. that is more than likely siezed cos nobody ever uses it, try a lube spray in the key slot if you cant gain access. if you need to jump start and can not get in the trunk i think the main battery terminal comes to the rh front under bonnet on rh drive cars near brake servo/ master cylinder, you can power it up from jump battery from that point,

Look under the boot handle near the number plate light and you'll see a hole where you can use your key to open the boot.

SOURCE: how do you acces trunk

Use your ignition key in the keyhole under the lip of the boot lid by the number plate or hidden under the boot chrome trim, all these cars have an overide to the electric boot opener its either a key at the boot or sometimes a cable pull inside the cabin or by the rear seat.
good luck - hopes this helps.

I have a 2005 Jaguar S Type and want to know if I can jump start the battery like you do other cars?

It can be jumped. Check for remote jump starting posts under the hood. If there are none, then whichever is easier: jump the battery or remove it and charge it up.

1996 jag xjs , the battery is dead , I need to jump start it but the trunk won't open ,battery in the trunk , can it be jumped from under the hood ? and why won't the trunk open even with a key ?

The trunk latch is operated by a solenoid which it requires power to operate. since the batery is flat then it won't work. I'm not sure where the positive terminal is under the hood but you can connect the positive lead to the alternator wire terminal, and the negative lead can be connected any where on the engine.
Good luck......

2007 Jaguar VDP

Hey John,

This is very common, because your battery is dead your remote isnt going to work. So what you have to do is look by the license plate light bulbs, their is a key hole wear you can insert you key and open the trunk to charge/ or jump start your battery

DEAD 2007 Jaguar VDP

the battery has gone dead you can not open the boot/trunk with the electrical system but you should be able to get to the battery by using the key in the lock on the outside of the the trunk its either in the xj badge or the number plate illumination holder. if you can open the engine compartment there is battery pos power points so you can jumpstart/power up the car
