I recommend getting an actual voltage, ampres check to see what the alternator is putting out, volts and amps. You should be able to get the charging, battery load test and the starter draw all tested together. That's where I would start.

If it's like the S-10 Blazer you don't. It's top mounted to the right of the battery and is four bolts a BFH or pry bar and it's out.

check for voltage at the battery with the engine running. You should see 14 plus volts. Now turn on the lights, bower motor, and whatever else you can to put the maximum draw on the battery. If the voltage drops below 13 volts the alternator is bad.

Those are all symptom,s of a low system voltage condition, so you had better get a 2nd opinion on the Alternator, I strongly suggest you seek out a dealer service dept for help.
