2000 Dodge Ram Laramie 1500 automatic transmission. Transmission does not shift from 1st gear to 2nd and 3rd. It does shift to reverse. Fluid is filled correctly. What could be the problem?

Dodge Ram 3500 skips from 1st to 3rd gear, had rebuild after still the same issue. Any advice?

Governor pressure controls the 1st and 2nd shifts. After that is the 3 and 4 solenoids. you would need to look at the pressure when driving(takes a scanner). pressure is 20 to 30 PSI from 1st to 2nd, depends on acceleration. After that the pressure will jump to 100+ psi. Did you replace the governor solenoid and sensor? They are on the passenger side of the transmission and sit in a block that detaches from the valve body.

Lincoln LS2000, transmission hesitates to shift from park into any gear. No problems with shifting through gears in regular driving. Is this a major repair? Only 113,000 mi.

1996 dodge ram 1500 4WD shifts into reverse fine starts off in 1st and will not shift into 2nd gear

Could be as simple as low transmission fluid, but it can also be your shift solenoids or gonked up valve body. Star with checking your transmission fluid level. On that vehicle its pretty simple. There should be a yellow dipstick. Vehicle needs to be on and on operating temperature. Gear selector in P or N. Pull the dipstick out and see what it reads.

Try changing the fluid and filter again because it is recommended to change it at about 30,000 miles anyways.

You have two sensors on the drivers side of your transmission. INPUT sensor and OUTPUT sensor. I believe the one you need is the INPUT sensor. Your check engine light should be on. If you can get it scanned your trucks computer will tell you what the problem is. GOOD LUCK FRIEND.
