How do I replaced parking brake ratchet on 2005 chevy malibu

Thats quite alot to explain in writing. The best thing you should do is go to any local auto parts store and buy a repair manuel for that car ( haynes or chiltons). They're only twenty bucks and it will walk you through the whole process with illustrations. Plus theirs also instructions on how do just about every repair. I hope this helped you out. i think it stands for traction control. most cars with that say ETC which stands for electronic traction control. if you have a manual for the car it should say what it is.

Under the dash, where the break release handle is, you'll see a lever where the release cable is/was attached to. Either push forward, or pull back this lever and it will release the parking break. BE CAREFUL the foot peddle for the parking break doesn't hit you in the face!
Mine broke on the 2nd of this month as well....
