Alternador get it replaced, or if your car stays on when you jump it, then it's your battery

podes tener problema con el alternador , los cable que van al alternador o los que val de la computadora al alternador o mala computadora

Things to check.
Is the starter working?
Is your changed battery fully charged
Check all battery cables for corrosion or loose connections. Both neg and positive cables both ends. Dirty or loose cables will not work to let the power through the way it should.

Parece que se te dano el alternador, me parece eso por lo que decis, seguramente esta arrancando con la bateria, pero no puede recuperar la potencia usada (W) con el alternador. Podes intentar colocar un voltimetro a los contactos de la bateria, prender el carro y si el voltaje (DC) no se sostiene entre 10.5 - 12 voltios, puede que uno (o el unico) problema del carro sea el alternador...por que pasa eso?, por que los carros son asi y si te estas preguntando si el dejar las luces encendidas dana el alternador? pues no... y no tiene que ver nada lo uno con lo otro, pero te repito, los carros son asi.

El relay de tu auto esta situado en la caja negra de fusibles la lado de la bateria enfrente, es una azul en la esquina superior. Es el mismo que yo andaba buscando suerte.

MAYBE YOUR ALTERNATER IS GOING OUT THATS PROBLY YOUR PROBLEM THIS TIME START CAR AND CHECK HOW MANY VOLTS YOUR ALTERNATOR IS TROWING OUT HAS TO BE 12,5 AND OVER OK

Someone will have to check the circuits to find out what is going dead when the engine stops running.
Could be a relay or a bad connection somewhere, even a ground.

Try inserting the key into the drivers door lock and unlock and lock the car by turning the key in the lock. Then turn and hold key in the unlock position If your windows lower the system has reset, if they do not or your car is not new enough to have this feature. Check you owners manual or call your BMW dealer and ask to speak with a technician and explain your problem chancs are he will help you on the phone.

if the car doesnt make a sound when trying to start it. it can be a possibility it is your alternador. the reason why it didnt shut off on you while you were driving was you were most likely driving off of your battery and not the alternador. I have the same exact car and i been thru hell and back and then back to hell with it. I had a problem where my alternador wasnt charging the battery so after driving for about 30 mins the car shut off. I got a new alternador and my battery light came on. i was able to drive it. (i also had a brand new battery). I took it to a shop to see what was wrong and the alternador wasnt charging up the battery, So in other words i was using the battery to drive. And if you are driving using the power of your batter only, it is very important you do not use anything that would help use it, such as radio, windsheild wipers or even your head lights (and i know yours come on automatically), if ur windows are powered used, try not to keep rolling them up or down. and it is very possible to drive off of the battery if you are not using any other power used things in the car. And if its not your alternador than most def its an electric problem (i had one of those too)
