yes all cars on earth he alternator has huge fuse
the lack of which would cause a huge harness fire with any shorted out alternator even a huge fuel fires.
yes those fuses are called maxi fuses or are fuesable links
in all case 1 or the other.
2007 Dodge Caliber, no engine told or country I will answer only for USA ,we only have books for USA see??
skipping step 1 for alternator swap blows up the fuse saving you and the cars bacon, big time. (look ma' no fire wow)
USA gas engine only not the diesel.
here it is out of your service manual

dodge coded dark green 10gauge
skipping step one blows it to kingdome come, easy.
most must cut out of the harness there
the fuse is not made from normal wire it is fire poof
and is special, ask dodge for it?

2007 dodge caliber altenator charging only 12 volts

Weak alternator have charging system checked. Most likely you are going to need a new alternator.

I replaced alternator on 2007 Dodge Caliber bad bearing now have no power from tipm to alternator so no charging and light is on did computer go out or any suggestions

Ck the battery, ground & ck that pos wire from the batt to the alternator. Ck all connections.

Park the Dodge Caliber on a flat paved or concrete surface. Turn the steering wheel all the way to the side opposite the headlight you are replacing. In other words, if you are replacing the left headlight, turn the wheel all the way to the right. Apply the parking brake and release the hood latch.

Step 2 Place a wheel chock behind one of the rear tires.

Step 3 Open the hood. This is to allow some light to reach down into the engine compartment.

Step 4 Raise the front quarter panel of the side you need to replace the headlight on with the floor jack and place the jack stand under the front frame rail on that side.

Step 5 Remove the fender well plugs using the plastic plug puller tool. You do not have to remove the entire fender well cover, but the more plugs you remove, the more access it will give you to the headlight assembly.

Step 6 Unplug the headlight switch. Make sure you are unplugging the headlight which will be the inboard plug.

Step 7 Turn the headlight bezel a quarter turn counterclockwise and extract the bulb and bezel.

Step 8 Insert the new headlight into the bezel, being careful not to touch the glass bulb.

Step 9 Insert the bezel and headlight into the headlight assembly and turn a quarter turn clockwise to lock it into place.

Step 10 Plug the wire connector into the headlight. This would be a good time to get up and go test the light to make sure it's working.
