My ford edge navigation system is clicking

Purchased a New navigation disc

The clicking noise is consistent when the disc is inserted. The clicking noise occasionally goes away but the noise is so loud that I have to turn the stereo up several notches to drown out the noise. I am going to purchase a DVD cleaner disc to see if this helps.

How do you remove the center console of 05 expedition

Hello Michael Helfter,

Welcome to FIXYA...

Mine is a 2004 Lincoln Navigator... but I believe they are essentially the same vehicle (my only caveat).
2017 Ford Expedition Navigator Factory Wiring Schematic Manual eBay

For my purposes... (adding a rear-view camera
onto the FACTORY navigation system)...
leaving the seats, panels and carpeting were not
an issue (easy access).

I believe (again) the sides pop right out...
But first check along the floor edge and all
the way up tp the where the CONSOLE intersects
with the firewall for any screws...

Finding no screws... work your FINGERS under the
bottom edge and pull gently (as you would to loosen
a door clip)... Reassembly becomes obvious when
looking at the parts... It all goes together in seconds.

The center of the panel comes out more by lifting
than pulling (again... GENTLE pressure is enough to
get it apart.

Hope this helps.

Acura navigation system stopped working

I have a 2007 Acura TL. The navigation system worked well, until 2017, when I decided not to renew it. Everything started to go wrong. It worked intermittently. Cost me job interviews, getting lost and being late. Did you receive a message, "See your dealership"? Well, the dealership was charging the same as the renewal price. A coincidence or an attempt to force the renewal? Well, I gave in. I just received the new navigation system (disc). It hasn't been installed as yet. Try reprogramming and find out how old the system is. A great car. The turning radius and the navigation system are my problems. Good luck.

2005 Mercury Mountaineer with DVD Entertainment System that will not read disk

The data on the DVD map disc ages at a rate of 15-20% per year. As the data ages, the functionality of the navigation system declines. Offering GM customers new navigation DVDs will ensure that the customers have the latest information for their system.

General Motors offered a Navigation Disc Update Program for alot model year vehicles. This program concluded on December 31, 2009. The DVD Navigation Update Program policy has changed and customers are no longer eligible for free annual updates, however, a navigation DVD update disc can be purchased for $199 (USD) + shipping.

If the navigation disc is needed for a warranty situation, the disc can be purchased for $120 (USD). The dealer must provide a VIN and RO# XXXXX qualify for the reduced price. The dealer must call the GM Navigation Disc Center, as this option is not available on the website.

The GM Navigation Disc Center launched on March 15, 2006. There are two ways to obtain an updated disc:
* Via the web through gmnavdisc.com
* GM Navigation Disc Center 1-877-628-3472

Technical Service Bulletins are sometimes generated to address specific navigation radio operational or performance issues. When a navigation radio bulletin is issued, it may contain instructions to utilize an advanced vehicle navigation (AVN) software update with a specific part number. GM dealers must order advanced vehicle navigation (AVN) software update discs as directed in the specific bulletin.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using FixYa, have a nice day.

My sat nav dont read the disc it say no disc found

If you've purchased a new navigation disc and it won't read it, you will probably need to get a firmware update for your navigation unit. If it won't read an old disc, check the disc for smudge marks or scratches. Clean it and retry. If it still don't work you can try a cleaner that you can get at Radio Shack or similar store. Hope this helps

Nav system

Installing the DVD Map Disc Your dealer/retailer may have installed the map DVD. If the map DVD was not installed, do the following to load it:
Read the following steps completely.
  1. Turn the ignition on. The vehicle must be in P (Park) to perform this operation.
  2. Press (power) to turn the navigation system on.
  3. Press the NAV hard key.
  4. Touch the Insert Map Disc screen button. The screen opens to access the map DVD slot.
  5. Load the map DVD partway into the slot. The system pulls it in. The screen cannot be closed until a double beep is heard.
Notice: Pressing directly on the navigation screen may cause damage. Repairs would not be covered by the vehicle's warranty. Do not press directly on the navigation screen.
  6. To close the screen, slightly push up on the two outer corners until the screen is in position. Then push the screen in by pushing on the four outer corners until a click is heard.
  7. Set the search area. See "Setting the Search Area" earlier in this section.
Ejecting the DVD Map Disc The navigation portion of the system cannot be used if the DVD map disc is not loaded.
  1. Press the MENU key to enter the Menu options, then press the MENU key repeatedly until Nav is selected or touch the Nav screen button.
  2. Touch the Map Database Information screen button.
  3. Touch the Eject Map Disc screen button. The screen tilts, exposing the map DVD slot.
  4. Press the eject button, located next to the DVD map disc slot, and the disc ejects. Pull the disc out. The screen cannot be closed until a double beep is heard.
Notice: Pressing directly on the navigation screen may cause damage. Repairs would not be covered by the vehicle's warranty. Do not press directly on the navigation screen.
  5. To close the screen, slightly push up on the two outer corners until the screen is in position. Then push the screen in by pushing on the four outer corners until a click is heard.

Loading 7.3 navigation dvd

The DVD for the navigation is not loaded into the 6 disc changer. Push the passenger seat all the way forward and up. Get in the back seat and you can access it from there. There is a cover that might need to be popped down.
