How do I turn off my car alarm. It goes off randomly through out the day and especially during the middle of the night and wakes up the neighbours.

So the car alarm goes off in the middle of the night and wakes up the neighbors. I think this happens because it detects the liftgate as being open. Its happened a few times while driving that it says its open when its not so I think while the car is turned off and locked, during cold weather some connection gets lose where it detects the liftgate as being open and sounds the alarm, waking up the neighbors kids. It would be nice if I could just turn it off.

I have a 2004 Lincoln LS,disconnect the negative battery for 10 minutes,then connect cable back,when you open driver side door alarm will go off,insert key in ignition and alarm will go off.Get in car,lock all doors and windows,turn key to the right 8 times quickly,then doors will unlock,then quickly push any button on key fob.

My 2000 Chrysler LHS alarm goes off hours after locking doors either manually or with remote. Unlocking the driver or passenger door will shut it off but how do I correct this problem?
I do not know how to "fix" the problem to make it right, but you can disable the alarm through the relay box or fuse box. You'll lose the alarm, but can lock the car. Several may be labeled "Alarm and... try to find one that is the alarm alone or something significant, if possible. Not an answer, just an Idea.

Door open sensor trips and alarm sounds
It's either the sensor itself or the wiring from the sensor to wherever it goes. I would start by swapping the two rear sensors and see if the fault moves to the other side. If not it's the wiring which you will need to trace and check all connectors involved.

My bet is that the alarm goes off when it is windy or when a large truck passes by. If that appears to be the case, the tamper alarm sensitivity needs to be adjusted so that it is less sensitive to movement of the truck.

2006 jetta alarm randomly arms
its the battery in the alarm it has an alarm backup battery built in to the alarm when it fails it sets off the alarm, its in the siren part unit. its not usually replaceable but you can break it open and replace the battery or disconnect the unit, but the alarm will not go off, and it does not have a back up alarm horn.

Hello, sounds like you need a new battery. As the battery goes flat the alarm senses it and sets off the warning system. Try changing the battery first and test it during the day. Also check to see if there is anything draining the power. You may also be able to adjust the alarm settings manually. Failing that, the alarm may need replacing. I hope I have helped.

On my 99SW I had that problem once, gave it to the girlfriend and it happened twice. I replaced the driver door light switch, based on a google search result, and it has not happened again. It may be an accident but it worked, so far. It was a new switch, obtained from getsaturnparts.net
