Gain access to the ckp on a 97 mercury villager with 3.0L

Freeze plugs run along the side of the engine block. There are some also between the rear of the engine and where the transmission mounts that you can't see when there connected. Some can be difficult to change depending on which ones are leaking. Sometimes accessories or motor mounts have to be removed to gain access, again depending on which one is leaking.

I have a 98 model.
Someone will have to figure out if you are dealing with a no spark or no fuel problem when it won't start.
Could be a long list of causes depending on which issue.

You typically have to remove the entire door panel to gain access.

It is under the lower intake manifold in the valley of the engine.You must remove the cross over coolant tube to gain access to the knock sensor. It bolts into the cylinder head. Good luck

when the widow is down, take some spraylube and spray into the tracks on either side of the window. see it that makes any difference

you can do it if there is an auto zone near you they will print you out a diagram for free and what i do is go to the library and get a print out telling you what all you have to take off.

check fuel filter area.
