If the clicking is from the starter motor area then its prob a power supply issue. the vehicle battery may have a full12-13volts but it depends what happens when under load... connect a multi meter to the battery terminals and turn the key to start, if the voltage drops below 10volts, then the battery is stuffed. batterys can show 12 volts when no load is applied but can go down to nothing when under load.
does the vehicle have an after market immobiliser/alarm? if it does make sure it is dis-arming.

Testimonial: "I would like to thank every1 for your answers it turn out to be the battery wasn't powerful enough and the ignition wire had been spliced for the alarm which was on the car already when I brought it. the pajero is going now with new battery and button push start. once again thanks for the help."

My pajero mitsibishi cracks but it wont starts

You may need a new battery, starter or alternator. If it only clicks once when you turn the key, it is probably the starter. If it clicks many times it is your battery or alternator.
Also check the wiring to the battery and starter.

91 Mitsubishi Pajero, wont start get power to the power solenoid when turnig the key. What would be causing this problem?

Check the start fuse first. Then try to start it neutral, not park. It could be the fuse, the safety neutral switch, or the ignition switch. My guess would be the neutral saftey switch.

My 1997 isuzu rodeo wont start. i checked the battery and it has a good charge so its not that and when i turn the key the dash lights up and everything but i dont even hear a click. when i turn the key...

Make sure battery has a full charge and battery connections all good, on both ends, not just at the battery. I looked at info for 4 cylinder engine. You can see the two fuses, not only check the fuses, use a test light and check voltage at fuse circuit. The main fuse is hot all the time. The starter fuse goes hot with key in start position, so you need a helper to turn the key while you check for voltage at the fuse. At the starter motor, two voltage circuits, one comes from the battery, hot all the time. The other circuit goes hot with key in the start position and is wired through clutch switch and starter relay. The starter motor grounds through the engine block. If good voltage and ground circuits at the starter motor and no action, have to check starter motor and make sure the engine isn't seized. Any testing at starter motor, make sure tranny is in park or neutral and parking brake is set.

My 2006 buick lacrosse wont start radio and lights work but its not saying nothing when i try to crank it

Hello! Do you hear a click when the key is turned?...If no click is heard either the ignition key, the Crank relay, the starter, or the battery are suspect...Having lights and radio does not mean the battery is capable of running a starter motor......Put a meter on the battery...should read 12.5 volts...Turn key...Does voltage drop to 8 or 9 volts? Bad battery...If all is well with battery and connections to it...Check the starter fuse # 33 in the under hood fuse/relay box...If the fuse is good that click you should hear is from the Crank Relay in that box...If all of the above is OK connect your meter to the Purple wire that is connected to the starter motor...When the key is turned 12 volts must be on that wire...If there is the starter motor is defective...So, #1...Do you hear a click when key is turned...That would point at a bad starter or weak battery...#2...If you do not hear a click bad fuse #33, bad Crank Relay, bad ignition switch...#3...If fuse is good Bad Crank Relay or Ignition switch; Crank Relay is a low cost item ($10)...Replace Relay...Stop there and send a comment as to results...Guru...saailer

87 Subaru GL wagon. Clicks when key is turned.

It def sounds like a starter prob, if you have replaced the wires its more than likely the starter motor itself, also check the battery voltage

2002 gmc 1500 sierra starter clicks but wont turn over. Have checked fuses, charged battery, tried jump starting all it does is you can here solinoid click but starter wont turn. I did turn heater fan on...

Replace the starter, the solenoid cant engage the starter because it is locked up, hence the extreme voltage drop with the fan when you try to start it with the fan on.

1987 Mitsubishi Pajero 2.5 turbo diesel not starting

Hi, there is a little cable that in on the starter motor, probably you have just disconnect it, it happens to my pajero lot of times. look around the starter motor for a cable that is not going somewhere and then locate the little connector on the top and rear part of the starting motor. if this is not the case then try another battery, pretty sure one of the two is the problem.

I have a ford focus wagon i cannot get it to start .. it has a good battery and the alt. is working great ... when i try to turn it over it just clicks starter is also good along w/applicable fuses ... I...

if your car will start with a jump but not on the key im assuming the battery has been drop tested and is ok then you must have a voltage drop problem between the battery and starter motor or a faulty starter motor other things to check are loose and corroded connections
