I put new brake light switch check fuses
Brake light switch may need adjustment. if that is not it there may be a wire for another component shorting to the brake wire
The first two steps are correct. A blown fuse can re-route power to some it is not supposed to go. oldgar9's suggestion is worth a try but I suspect it won't help. European cars seem to suffer from this problem more than other manufactures. You should probably sign up on a Mercedes owners forum for more specific help. Another component many be worn out such as a relay and that could be causing the problem. If the brakes stay on while the key is in the run or on position but the motor is not going you could try removing fuses until the brake lights go off to isolate the branch causing the problem.
