Haven't checked anything yet. Where do I start?
This could really be anything from the air bags themselves to the air lines to the solenoids. The air suspensions on these vehicles are notorious for their early failure. My suggestion would be to just go ahead and ditch the air suspension and convert to standard coils. You will save money even in the short term but definitely in the long term. Here's one that will work for your car:

Check for leaks. might be the air spring or the plastic air lines. take note there are straight connector fittings going to the rear. use soap and water to determine where the leak is coming from
Your air suspension is leaking, could be a air bag or line or a fitting or a dump valve. Get a spray bottle full of soapy water and start spraying down the air ride components and watch for bubbles.

it might be the fuel pump take the output hose off of it and crank the engine and see if fuel comes out of the pump if it does the fuel pump is not the probelem. if it doesnt come out or if it slowly comes out than you need a new fuel pump
SOURCE: The rear suspension is down on my 1999 Ford
I had a 1999 Expedition. When you put the 4x4 on it raises the vehicle an extra inch or 2.
It may help to turn the 4x4 off. Two wheel drive is a lower air setting.
Your original pump may still be good. The problem can be in the front. The compressor is not filling the front suspension to the cutoff point. It will lift the rear after the front end is at running height. Since you lost the front end first, the remaining air bled out there and then the rear came down. Once you shut down the car the suspension was done, all the air was let go.
There are adjustment solenoids on the body but you need someone qualified to repair this.

They are round "cans" with wires attached. You should have SSA, SSB, SSC, Torque converter and Pressure Control solenoids. They control pressures and have no mechanical linkage.

You should start by checking your fuses under the dash. Should be a small panel under the dash or on the side of it. The panel has a legend which shows the position and title of each fuse.
