How do I replace a fuel filter for 2001 Hyundai elandra gls and where is it located?

That fuel filter is in the fuel tank, attached to the fuel pump. Not a very difficult job. Remove the rear seat cushion, then remove the access panel to the pump. Remove the gas cap to relieve any pressure. Remove the ground wire and fuel lines, then remove the filter.

most new up vehicles no not have a serviceable fuel filter. The fuel filter is part of the fuel pump module. It is serviced when the fuel pump is replaced.

I checked some online parts retailers and do t see a listing for a fuel filter. You could always check with the Hyundai parts department to see if there is a filter available.

ask for a quality injector cleaner to be added to the tank
ask that the fault codes be read as part of the service

2001 Hyundai Accent 1.6L MFI DOHC 4cyl the Fuel Filter is located under vehicle, center, below cargo area, mountedon top of fuel tank, in fuel pump module.

Hi the fuel filter is an inline filter and you can find this on the fire wall located under the master brake cylinder, the lines screw into the filter from what i can remember, if you buy the new filter first you will know exactly what your looking for, if you have any problems give me a shout back ok

The fuel filter is in the fuel tank attached to the bottom of the fuel pump... it's called a 'sock' and doesn't need replacing.

If the filter is not at the tank, under the access panel, under the rear seat, then it is inside the tank.

it is above the tank next to the sending unit. remove tha bottom of the back seat and there is an access panel remove this and you'll see the fuel filter

The fuel filter is located under the rear seat in a compartment above the fuel tank. Also, a filter sock at the base of the fuel pump located 
in the fuel tank.

On 2001 models the fuel filter is part of the fuel pump. To replace the fuel filter, disconnect the negative battery cable, remove the back seat and take fuel pump cover off to get to the fuel pump.Then you have to 1) disconnect the electrical connector from fuel pump/fuel sending unit, 2) disconnect the high pressure hose and the fuel return hose from the fuel pump and 3) remove the fuel pump mounting flange screws. You can then lift the fuel pump and replace the filter.
