Sorry never heard of a heritage but iam assuming its a motor vehicle ,and as such it has a immobilisor and i suspect that you may have lost the chip out of the key so firstly try the spare key and see if it runs ,if its still not starting with the spare key then i can only ponder as to the cause as on a modern motor vehicle they are all electronic everything and as such it could be a sensor ?? but what one or a problem with the fuel pump as weither its a diesel or a petrol engine then the chances are it has a fuel pump in the tank ,,again problem with the connection on the top of the sender -- fuel pump .but in all honesty i wouldnt have a clue as to the fault without my head in the engine giving it the proverbal abuse and a prod and a wiggle on the connections ,plug my OBDII reader in in the hope it gives a answer .So after trying the spare key if still no go then the best advice i can offer is to call a local mechanic to have a look for you .
probably not your key that you lost has a chip in it go to a locksmith he might be able to duplicate the chip for you for a lot less money than the dealership
HMMMM thinking aloud here ,_-_--hmmm right have you run a hot wire from + on battery to the small terminal on the starter if so and it cranks then its either starter relay or the ignition switch ,but if starter turns ok with the hot wire then before you go any further try the spare key if still no joy with spare key then its electrical fault if it starts with teh spare key then your other key has lost its chip or been close to a mobile phone or TV screen and blanked the magnetic bar code .
try the spare key and see what happens ,if no spare then call out a auto locksmith and have one made and the keys reprogrammed but it scould be you lost the chip out of the key or its been wiped by a mobile phone or a TV screen even a body scanner or any electrical field
try a diffrent key,your extra one.Could be the micro-chip inside is not comunication with anti-theft-.This happened to me.I used the spare set for a few days .then the other key started working again
try the spare key and if that doesnt work then its dealer only job unless you have a good automotive locksmith locally who can re-programme the vehicle for you ,have you lost the chip out of the key ??
I am having the same problem as you wish new what it is. My wife lost her keys, we tried starting car with the spare key but it winds over but won't start. Found the keys an hr later tried the old keys and it started. Maybe some problem with the keys and the ignition.
Can be a key problem. If it is not working right, it will disconnect the fuelpump as a safety-measure to prevent stealing your car. (only if it's a key with a chip inside)
Sometimes you can reset your key at the dealer. And please check your battery that's inside your key.

I had this problem too, the key would unlock the doors and release the trunk but would not start the car. Took out the spare key and it started. Go figure? Hope it works for you. I was off to get a new starter put in the car when my GREAT brother in law said, try to valet key, maybe the key lost its memory. He was right and saved me a boat load of money $$$$.
Your spare key probably isn't programmed for the car. Ford uses a stupid chip in the keys. I have the same issue with my Explorer. You have to buy a key from the dealer and have them program it for you. About $50-75. (Ford owns Land Rover, in case you were wondering)
