Not getting a spark at all on number 8 cylinder, can the loom be changed?
When you say not firing have you removed the plug and checked for spark across the plug points. If you haven't done that then do so as misfiring can also be from faulty injector( blocked tip or faulty electronics)

It sounds like a bad sensor or a break in the wire to the injector

When you change the plug what color is the tip of the old one? This could be the answer to your problems. It should be a light beige or tan if everything is working properly.Just take one of the old plugs down to your local garage and get the mechanic to have a look at it. He'll be able to tell you why it keeps misfiring. Hope this helps.
