Or maybe the throttle cable needs replacing, or possibly the throttle body needs cleaned.

I have a 2003 Mazda Tribute ES v6 when I put it in drive it won't move anywhere but I hear a vacuum leak when it is idling and I can get it to go reverse it shut off

Trace where the vacuum leak is coming from ,check the fluid level in the trans.top up to correct level, you an find a air leak by spraying throttle body cleaner or W.D 40 around the inlet manifold area.If it won,t go forward after that see a transmission rebuilder.

Mazda tribute 2003,, will start but stalls,,after 2 0r 5 times will stay started,, after statred there are no problems,, It does not do it all the time.., when it stays stared the rpm go up to 2000 then ...

Most likely cause is a leaking vacuum hose on your air intake. It's a common problem on tributes but should be easy and cheap to fix. Look for cracks, holes, or roughness on the small black pipes near your engine and air intake and while you're there check the end connections are secure/tight. If you find cracks, holes, etc then replace the hose, if the connection is loose, then tighten it..

It could also be that your Mass Air Flow sensor is stuffed. Not as cheap, but still easy to fix.

I recent change the mass air flow sensor and the egr valve. there is no enging light but the car hesitate and sometimes vibrate on moving. when am moving slowly the grear shift fast i.e move foward fast...

Your all over with this
I wish I could drive it
I own a 2004

Why was the MAF,not MAS changed?
I know the EGR Valve problems
I also know the idle and shift stratagy

Is it a V6 or V8
Give me some history on COP Coil issues
and other past problems

Do you work on it exclusively?
If repair shops have checked it ,I need all they did
in detail. Their no good with an LS and a dealer is lost

The idle won't go over 3000 rpm in park,it is a safety feature without getting technical
When you go into drive it should not increase in rpm
The throttle command comes from the pedal actuator (gas pedal),I will continue later on that

MAF Sensor shouldn't fail, was it tested and how?
How many coils went bad since 2003?
Was TPS checked out?

Has a dealer ever looked at it,looked might be a stretch, their not good at even looking
and can't fix these cars.

I will wait on some input from you
