Single mark at 12 o'clock on both sides of cam, double mark driver side at 3 o'clock and passenger side at 9 o'clock. Do not use arrow on can wheel as timing mark.

SOURCE: Subaru Impreza gas cap door won't open

If there is one - In trunk - directly behind the gas filler door - behind trunkliner (carpet)
The cable should not have any problems... use a partner to hold the door release and try and pry it open with your fingers.
The spring popper may be bad.
Try this if you dont have an assistant :D

I had this problem with my STI -- easy to fix by bending the little metal on the inside of the fuel door that provides the spring action to open the door. 5 second fix

SOURCE: subaru impreza automatic transmission won t shift

Try replacing the transmission filter and the trannie fluid. Mine would only go in reverse, and now it drives pretty well. This year has a screw on filter. Hope this helps

1993 Subaru impreza wagon cranking but will not start not getting fuel to the engine

Could be all sorts of things. If the timing belts have slipped, the engine will usually not start or run really rough. Could be the crank angle sensor (under the alternator, just above the main pulley).

If the belt has slipped, you can check by pulling the cam belt covers off. Usually its the LHS side belt that's jumped. The hydraulic tensioner sometimes works loose and detensions the belt. Rotate the engine till to top dead center on the pulley, and see if the cam pulleys are at the timing marks. If the belt has slipped, you WILL have bent valves.

When do you change a camshaft sprocket in a subaru

It's is extremely unusual to have to change a sprocket unless these is significant wear or other obvious damage. What does get changed is the belt, idler bearings, and most importantly, the tensioner assembly. There are full parts kits for this.

Timeing

Doesn't matter what engine it is as long as it has valves and uses petrol (not diesel), the camshaft lobes at cylinder #1 should always face upwards. This positions the valves at it's closed setting (combustion), this is known as Top Dead Center or TDC. With this in position, all your timing markers should align on their marks (cam pulley, crankshaft pulley or flywheel ring gear). Do not confuse yourself with other cylinders being this and that, as long as number 1 cylinder is at TDC or 0* you have set your timing correctly.

Pls. give this a rating, thank you.

Looking for the correct timeing marks for crank and both cams on a 1993 subaru impreza and at what pisition should the number 1 cylender be at?

easy money, the crank pully cog has a little hash mark on one of the nipples and that lines strait up and down with the hask mark on the tup of the oil pump directly below the crank sensor, the two cam ullys each have a hash mark on the outer edges and the both align strait up and down with the marks on the rear timing covers.

Need timing specs for 1997 subaru impreza 2.2

These are specs for a 2.2L which will also work for the 2.5L cuz they are the same picture. Have fun and remember, if you get the timing marks wrong the on the single overhead cam(1st picture) you won't hurt the engine, you'll just have to re-time it. But, if you DO get the timing marks wrong on the duel over head cam engine(2nd picture) you will bend every single valve in both cylinder heads of that engine. If this is your first time(I have to assume it is just to be safe you see) I recommend 2 people performing this task, it's just better that way. Good luck!!!!!!!42245806
And this is the dual over head cam picture...
