The same thing happened to my 03 CTS. The camshaft position sensor code is often thrown for a variety of reasons. In my case somehow the ECM went when the timing belt jumped (after the serpentine belt broke). It was a bear to diagnose but after installing a rebuilt ECM it runs great. (Don't make the mistake I made: the cylinder head gaskets will fit nicely on either side but if not placed on the correct sides you'll block the single oil port which provides engine oil to the head)
my cadillac 2003 had the same problem. my fix was the crank shaft sensor went out. the repair man fixed it for me. but it sounds like the same problem i had. hope this helps..
The sensor itself is located under the car right behind the oil filter. It is connected on top of the motor right by the fire wall. You will need an E8 torx socket to get it out but it's a very easy replacement.
u have a leak in the heater core the oily smell and mist is anti freeze sounds like a small leak because usually u would have a wet floor if it was large -two choices check and repair as necessary the core or can use an additive with a stop leak they usually work well on small leaks
It is under the intake in the back in the coolant bridge it is not bad
to change if you are not affaid to take the intakes off but to get to
it you have to take the intake off
Hey Guys! Had the same annoying problem. Cadillac dealer could find nothing wrong with it. Gave me a new battery. Took it to PepBoys and it died for them and immediately they found that it was the Crank Positon Sensor!! Part was $70 + labor. GOOD as NEW!!!!
