I have a 2003 ford 350 with a fisher vplow . My plow will not go up or turn either way . Any ideas

First make sure you have a good cable feeding the solenoid battery terminal check with a test light if ok, turn the plow switch on and test both sides of the solenoid if there's battery voltage there check at the plow lift motor is it plugged in, if so check at the plow lift motor battery terminal and if it lights your light repair the motor....these motors are know for seizing or getting stuck if you take the cap off you can probably fix it, put a punch mark on the cap, barrel and end frame to ensure alignment when reassembled. My plow went up it was jerking and did it in steps , but , it got there . Now , it onlyjerks when i try to angle it right or left or up . I filled the fluid ... Drop it and if it doesn'traise you can just use a jack and shorten the transport chain to hold it. .... I do havecontinuity on the plow side for all 3 wires going to the plug . Ultramount Intermittent Angle Problem - Snow Plow Forum - L

• Oil viscosity is dropping as oil warms up. Check that plow stays in up position. If plow creeps down than a leak by the piston seal or manifold valve is likely.
• Check for contamination in tank. Suspect pump has worn and is loosing pump efficiency. Metal particles in tank are an indication pump is failing.
• There may be a repair kit available. Make sure that system is completely clean.
• Only use pump manufactures recommended fluid.
• Install a pressure gauge on pump.
• There is a pressure relief valve in the system. Ck if contamination is holding it open or spring/valve seal is bad.

There solinoids on pump. Check wiring and grounds. Make sure all small wires are intact and in good condition. But most likely there's a loose corroded or green wire causing issue

Im an automechanic by trade, and know nothing about plows or tractors, although some knowlege might apply to both. I suspect that screw adjusts the speed of its relitive lever, there are probably more for each lever. If it works, go for it. I see no problems arising, but again I know little about tractors or plows, but lots about mechanicals and how stuff works. Put the screw where you want it, and ride on!

97 350 .... 9 ft Western unimount isaramic . New 9 pin . Truck and plow side . New plow motor .new relays and solenoid . . Plug 9 pin in and plug power cord to to . Lights come on. Motor kicks in when I turn on the controller . But stays running and no movement. Test light the plow solenoid . All have power . New fluid. I'm buying a new pump for 200 hoping that's the problem . But I'm stumped on the new motor ...... Old motor had 1 post . Ground to frame . New motor has two posts . Post and neg to motor .... If I switch the ground back to plow frame like the old one. Nothing works but lights stay on . When I reconnect the ground back onto the motor . Lights go out and motor turns on. . Possibly blew relays? It's a new motor . Stumped

Tool rental stores have a couple different types of spring compressors. A short tour through a local one could give you an idea as to which type would best fit your needs.

I think you have a problem with the plow motor grounding out. when you raise or turn plow in either direction you have to run the plow motor which is grounded out. ( as in hooking the ground and positive together directly ) the plow is on a gravity drop when you let it down by the weight itself and does not require the motor for the plow to operate. It's your plow motor or the positive feed to selonoids.
