I have a 94 chevy camaro 3.4, i noticed that it had mostly water in collant system causing it to freeze.once i got it balanced i still didnt have heat so i unclogged the heater core.now it is backed up...

you should flush out the system and put coolant in if it has problems you will have to fix them sometimes its best not to cut corners you may need a new heater core if it was clogged probaly all rusted inside that core

2000 dodge darango has no heat, looks like its been bypassed why would someone do that ? is that a problem

it was bypassed because the previous owner didn't want to change the leaking heater core, it is a big job.

Why does my 1995 chevy camaro not blow out hot air? i've changed the thermostat, it has a new radiator and hose, and new water pump. the heater core seems to be fine.

use your hand on both hoses into and out of the heater core to see that they are hot. if not the core is plugged and needs to be replaced. before you do that squeeze the hose upper and lower and the heater core hoses to make sure there is no air trapped in the system. be very very careful of the fan while you are doing this.

How do you bypass a heater core on the 2000 Chevy Venture. It has a rear and a front heater core with a 3 way T outlet connecting several hoses and more than two hoses that go into the firewall since it...

Yes it can be done. look at your engine on it there will be two heater hoses coming from the engine to the heater, disconnect those two heater hoses at engine, with heater hose and two hose clamps, get the hose and clamp first at auto parts, install one end and the other end of same hose, where you disconnected the heater hoses from the engine, you have just by-pass the heater, hope this was very helpful.

I have a heater core leak on my 2000 chevy silverado V6, is there an easy fix?

You can bypass the heater core, you just wont have heat anymore. On the firewall of the truck, behind the engine, you will see 2 rubber heater hoses that go into the firewall. They attach to the heater core. Disconnect them and get a plastic connector, and connect the 2 hoses together with clamps to hold them down. This will stop coolant from going into the heater core, and no more leak.

Why bypass the heater core? whats the out ***

there are pretty much two reasons someone would bypass the core 1. it is leaking and for some reason they don't want to or can't change it now. or
2. there is a heater control that can't be easily reached that is causing hot air to blow into the cabin in the summer. (there are other ways of fixing that though).
Either way, in bypassing it, the flow in the cooling system is not interrupted and it does not cause any damage to the engine. (where blocking it possibly could, even though that's unlikely)

How do you bypass the heater core on a 1989 Chev. Camaro 5.0

take the inlet hose to the heater core and connect it with the outlet hose on the heater core, thus creating a by-pass. you may be able to follow the hoses back to the aterpump and engine block and make a shorter run of it.
