Hi, Janet. What do you mean by "on one side"? There's only one AC compressor, true? The only power going to it would be to the compressor's clutch, two wires - one hot and one ground. If you unplug the wiring harness there, you should be able to measure continuity across the clutch. If no continuity, the clutch is gone.

When i turn on the a/c,the compressor does not work

CHECK REFRIGERANT CHARGE. USING A MANIFOLD GAUGE SET. HOOK MANIFOLD GAUGE SET TO LOW PRESSURE PORT AND HIGH PRESSURE SIDE PORT. LOW SIDE PRESSURE SIDE SHOULD HAVE 25 - 36 PSI AND HIGH PRESSURE SIDE SHOULD BE 178 - 237 PSI. IF LOW SIDE PRESSURE SIDE READ BELOW 20 PSI THE LOW PRESSURE SWITCH WILL NOT TURN ON THE AC COMPRESSOR CLUTCH NEED TO ADD LITTLE MORE REFRIGERANT. IF REFRIGERANT LEVEL CORRECT CHECK AC COMPRESSOR FUSE AND RELAY.IF POWER GOING TO AC COMPRESSOR CLUTCH YOUR COMPRESSOR CLUTCH HAS OPEN WINDING. AC COMPRESSOR CLUTCH NEED REPLACING.

Ac problem no voltage to ac clutch on dodge caravan 1999 3.3 eng

If you do not have enough refrigerant in the system. The low pressure switch will prevent the compressor from engaging to avoid damage.

Check your pressure.

I don't recommend this, but you may need to jump your low pressure switch to get the compressor going to add more refrigerant to the system. But if your low on charge, it may be "best to take it to a shop to have them fill the system".

Is there a fuse or relay for air suspension for a 1999 expedition

Hello
Since you're looking for fuses and relays, I will assume that the compressor is not working. First check the suspension service shut off
switch located under the right side of the dash. If thats on, go to the fuse block under the left side of the dash and check fuses #4-#5-#20-#2
If they're ok, move to the fuse block under the hood on the left fender and check fuse #109 a large 50amp fuse it's best to use a 12v test light.
If that checks out, check the compressor relay located near the right
headlight assy. there will be 4 wires from the relay, lt blue/pink(hot to fuse #109) lt green/red(grnd to compressor) grey/red pwr to compressor)
drk blue/yell to suspension/steering module located behind ctr of dash.
Before you start these tests turn key to on(should be on for all tests)
use the 12v test light and test for power from grey/red wire at the
compressor + check lt grn/red wire for good ground. If you have pwr+grnd it's most likely a bad compressor. But if no power perform the
above tests. Hope this helps.

Change a new air compressor but doesn't work

if you have no power the the clutch on the compressor check the low pressure switch on the receiver dryer if you have power there take a jumper wire and put it between the two wires in the female switch you should hear a click and the compressor will run dont let it run to long because you`ll need to find out if the low pressure switch is bad or if you do not have enough freon in the system.

Air suspension in the rear does not work

I am currently going thru this nightmare with this ford piece of ****. I would like to stick a bail out up a ford execs ***. Try going 12 volts to the compressor, if you get noise, and it is running, then it is a relay, which is located behind the pass headlight, in the front of the pass wheel housing. My current problem is that I can get the compressor running thru 12 volts, vehicle raises and is level, with no air leaks as the height holds. I believe I have either a defective harness or another bad relay. There are 2 little shock type adjusters, one is in the middle mounted to the rear axel, the other in the front, mounted to the drivers side upper c/arm. they pop off easily. pop one off, prp it so it senses a load and see if the vehicle raises. the reverse will induce a lowering. any other quesions, email me 2 [email protected]

Air suspension not working

on the passenger side inside the wheel well there is a high current relay for the air compressor it is a silver metal relay assy 4 wire plug two smaller wire are the relay power two larger wires are compressor feed. if you jump the two larger wires and the compressor works check the smaller wires for power and ground if ok the relay is bad. usually these relays go bad due to compressor drawing high current and usually need to be replaced
