The little red oil can light came on then dash light said turn engine off now. I looked in owners manual it said to turn car off but doesn't say what the problem is. Also called Cadillac svc dept. they said could be oil pressure fuse or may be oil pump. any advise is appreciated thank you

Hi Larry, red oil light indicates low oil pressure......As you have already been told this could be due to no oil, oil pump or a faulty oil pressure switch!
If your oil light is on, it means that the control module thinks there is no oil pressure. It could be a bad oil pressure sending unit, or it could be that the oil pump is out and that the engine is actually not getting oil. The engine would need to have a mechanical gauge put on to find out if it does have pressure.

arnott.com sells replacement shocks, take one of your orginal springs and go to a spring frabrication shop they should be able to fabricate a new spring for you with a 2 to 4 inch lift

Before making any repairs I suggest you put an external mechanical oil pressure gauge in place of the sending unit and determine what your actual oil pressure is. That will tell you which way to go using real numbers. If this condition appeared suddenly it may not be a large problem, especially as you did not note any knocking etc that goes along with internal wear.
