Simple...check these fuses at the "Central juntion box"--F2-40, F2-06, F2-35, if ok then....F2-25 for LT lamp, F2-23 for RT lamp...if all good, check loom and connectors...knowing that the BULBS are good first....GL

There is a light sensor that is responsible for turning on the lights in dim condition. Obviously, it is not working and needs to be replaced to restore normal operation.

I have a 2005 Outback. Suddenly the lights won't turn off. I can turn the headlights on and off but the parking lights front and rear will not turn off. Any suggestions?

Hi it sounds like you have hit the parklight switch, in some models there is a swith in the steering colum surround peice on the top that is hard to notice and it activates the park lights, give it a try as it may have been knocked on

1994 gmc jimmy headlights wont turn on

go to an accredited auto electrician for electrical work
it may be a switch problem but I think that there is no power to the light relays ( switch or fuses)
if that model has a light control module , it could be that

My head lights won't work. My running lights and dome light work and so does my turning singals.

Probably need to replace your headlight switch, it could be another problem but that is where I would start. The headlight switch is 2 or 3 switches in one, it turns on your parking lights, it turns on your interior lights and dims them too. Either that or it's your bulbs but they say you will never burn both headlights out at the same time. If you have a test light or a volt meter you could check the voltage at the headlight, that would eliminate the switch.

Is there a way to turn the headlights off while car is running. We want to go thru Christmas display and they require you drive with park lights only. My lights come on automatically.

I THINK if you barely put on the parking brake, just enough to make the lights go off, but not drag, you will be OK. Try it and see if the lights go out when the parking brake is applied.

1995 Buick Lesabre

Left of the two headlight buttons for headlights and parking, there is a vertical slider. It's labeled Twilight, meaning twilight sentinel that keeps the headlights on. Move it down and that shortens the on time to about 5 seconds. If you are sittting with the headlights on and want them to go off, push it to the bottom and it turns the lights off immediately. They will turn back on when the car is put into park.

Move the slider to the top and they should stay on for about 5 minutes. BTW if you just leave the headlight switch pushed in (if you're doing it manually) the car turns everything off in about 10 minutes--inside lights, radio, lights, cigarette lighter power (unless you moved the fuse in the underhood fuse block to make them stay on permanently).

You also may not know that if you are driving or sitting and want the headlights off but the parking lights to stay on, push the Parking LIghts button. That turns the headlights off. I didn't find that for a while because our 98 LeSabre didn't have any way to turn off the headlights while cruising through a Christmas display scene in a park where many people turn off the headlights to help the effect of the colored lights. Automatic Headlights

You really can't disable them, but if your are parked and want to run the car without the lights on simply depress the parking brake and the auto lights will turn off. I found this out at a drive in movie. Removing the fuse made the lighting system go haywire.
